Composers Open Session
Tuesday 28 January 2014, 3pm – 7pm
City of Melbourne are hosting an open session to allow anyone with an interest in writing music for the bells to get a hands-on experience.
It’s a great chance to refine your composition before the competition deadline.
E-mail your MIDI file to fedbells@melbourne.vic.gov.au by 12noon Tuesday (or publish it via the on-line composer). You can even bring your file on a USB stick and hear it played live in Birrarung Marr.
There will be a piano keyboard so you can experiement live. Or bring your preferred MIDI device (and cable).
Increase your understanding of the instrument by talking to the Federation Bells curator and assistant.

It is expected all participants will get individual time but this will be dependent upon number of attendees. Some shelter provided but event may be cancelled or shortened in the event of inclement weather.
